Sudan name 27-man provisional squad ahead of double header against Black Stars of Ghana in 2021 AFCON qualifiers, list dominated by Al Hilal Omdurman and Al Merreikh players.

Sudan make a tricky journey to Ghana to face the Black Stars of Ghana on 27th day of March before returning to homeland to prepare for the Black Stars three days later in attempt to book qualification to 2021 AFCON tournament in Cameroon.

Ahead of the two difficult games, manager Hubert Velud has named 27-man provisional squad to begin preparations for the upcoming games.

The squad is dominated by local players, precisely, Al Hilal, Al Merrick and Al Ahli Shendi stars who combine have 18 players in Velud’s first call up.

The list consist of only four players who play outside Sudan but only two players  Yassin Hamed and Ammar Taifour play in Europe, Romania and Italy respectively.

Unsurprisingly, Al-Samal, Abdul Latif Boya, Walid Bakhit Hamid, Mohammed Musa Al-Dai, Amir Kamal, Ramadan Agab and Muhammad Hamed are all included in the squad.

Before taking on Ghana, the Northeastern African side will test their strength against Togo in a friendly fixture on March 21.
