Medeama Sporting Club confirm negotiations with former Asante Kotoko striker Songne Yacouba

Ghana Premier League side Medeama Sporting Club have confirmed that they are in negotiations with former Asante Kotoko striker Songne Yacouba.

The Burkina Faso International has been linked with a host of clubs before his contract at Kotoko even expired last month.

Medeama is 6th on the Ghana Premier League table and knee signing reinforcements to bolster their attack to compete when the league resumes, and appear one of the clubs who are on the move for securing the signature of Yacouba.

Latest reports claim Medeama have completed the signing of the Burkina International and the club have deny those reports, admitting the Yellow and Mauves are only talking with the striker as it stands now, confirmed by Medeama chief executive officer James Essilfie.

”I’ve seen such stories but I’ve not seen the player ever since we played against them in the league,” Essilfie told OTEC FM.

”I’ve seen the stories but we have not signed him [Yacouba], although talks are ongoing.

“It’s not just Medeama [in negotiations with him], other clubs are also talking to him.”

The Burkina International is now a free agent, eligible to open talks with any club of his choice, and he is linked with Legon Cities Football Club who knee stepping up their game in order to reach the top four of the Ghana Premier League.

The 28-year-old forward has also attracted interest from Orlando Pirates who saw their bid for Yacouba rejected by Asante Kotoko last year, Simba FC and Zesco United who all been linked with the former Kotoko striker.
