Asante Kotoko have targeted their third Ghana Premier League victory when they make a trip to Bibiani to face newly promoted side Gold Stars this Friday.

However, they may face huge opposition two day later from today with Gold Stars boss Michael Osei stating his side will be Kotoko on Friday.

Kotoko have not tasted defeat holding a 100 per cent record after two games in the Ghanaian top flight league and thus leads the table with 6 points.

Michael Osei who has played and managed Kotoko but currently boss at Gold Stars expects a challenging game but is optimistic about carrying the day.

“We’ve noticed that Kotoko have started very well this season. I had the opportunity to watch them last weekend alongside my technical team. We saw that they are a very good side, but we are also a strong side, and our team is jelling very well,” he said.

“It will be an interesting game and very difficult game, but I believe that [we will defeat them]. I don’t want to brag. Let’s wait for Friday and see what happens,” he concluded.

Bibiani Gold Stars have also had a good start to what is their top-flight debut season, beating Berekum Chelsea at home and picking a point away to Medeama.

The Gold Stars boss compared himself to Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum who placed third place on the table with West African Football Academy (Wafa) last term.

Michael Osei has stated that he is above Prosper Ogum Narteh with regards to football comparison.

While admitting they both are on the same page in coaching career, Osei believes his experience as a player gives him the nod over Kotoko managers Prosper Narteh Ogum who never played professional football.

“I think maybe Prosper Ogum Narteh and I are almost at the same level in coaching. He is a good coach, just like myself.

“He has done well for Kotoko so far, and you can see I’m also doing my bit with Gold Stars who are only playing in the league for the first time,” Osei told Zylofon FM.

“However, in terms of football, I think I was, or I’m ahead of him. I was a good footballer, and everyone who watched me can attest to that fact,” he added.
