Sheriff Tiraspol reportedly capture signing of Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Razak Abelora on 3-year deal

The former Black Stars shot-stopper has completed a sensational move to the Moldovan top-flight outfit in the ongoing winter transfer window.

Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Razak Abalora has officially signed for Moldovan top-tier side FC Sheriff Tiraspol after a fruitful negotiations.

The 25-year-old left the shores of Ghana last week to sign a three-year deal with the Yellow and Black lads after agreeing to personal terms with the club.
Abalora had a contract which keeps him at Asante Kotoko until the summer of 2023 but the club has decided to sell him after his buy-out clause was triggered by the Sheriff Stadium outfit.
The 2021/22 UEFA Champions League campaigners decided to sign the former West African Football Academy SC goalkeeper as replacement for 39-year-old Serghei Pascenco, who is expected to leave the club at the end of the season.
Abalora has managed to keep five clean sheets in his 9 appearances for Asante Kotoko in the ongoing 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.
Before his return to the Ghana Premier League in 2020, Abalora featured for Tanzanian giants Azam FC where he made over 100 appearances and also aided them to clinch Kagame InterClub Cup and Mapinduzi Cup in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
Following his explosive performance in East Africa with Azam FC, he was handed a debut call-up to the senior national team of Ghana in 2019.
Abalora made his first-ever appearance for the Black Stars of Ghana in an international friendly against Qatar. Be has capped four times for the West African nation so far.
It is understood that both clubs will be announcing the transfer of Razak Abalora in the coming days.
FC Sheriff Tiraspol already have three Ghanaian footballers namely Edmund Addo, Patrick Kpozo and Abdul Basit Khalid in their fold.
