Tanzania giants Young Africans complete the signing of former Asante Kotoko forward Songne Yacouba

Former striker for the Ghana Premier League outfits Songne Yacouba has completed a move to Young Africans (YANGA) after the Tanzanian side announcing the transfer on their social media.

“New signing; Yacouba Songne will land in Jangwani,” Timu ya Wananchi said in a short post on their Facebook page.

Yacouba has remained unattached since April 2020 after failing to reach an extension over his stay at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The Burkina Faso International opened a quest to find a new home after leaving Kotoko where he was linked with Sudanese giants Al Hilal Omdurman, Zesco United, Nkana Red Devils and Premier Soccer League side Orlando Pirates before the coronavirus pandemic took attention of all affairs.

In Tanzania, Yacouba nearly reached agreement with Simba Sporting Club three months ago but the transfer failed due to conflict of player’s agency as Simba confirmed.

With their local rivals Young Africans observing overhauling in their setup and perhaps, replace Democratic Republic of Congo’s David Molinga who left YANGA ending of this season with 11 goals, the former Asante Kotoko forward is been snatched up in those lights.

YANGA are planning to win the Tanzania Premier League after failing to do so in three years now with Simba clinching the last two titles and could add more top talents to the current setup.

In light, they are expected to open a stiffer competition for Kotoko in race for Medeam SC loanee Justice Blay and according to Goal YANGA are ready to appoint former Simba SC coach Patrick Aussems to replace departed Luc Eymael.

The Jangwani Street-based giants are currently in the market to hire a coach after they fired the Belgian on the final day of the 2019-20 Mainland Premier League season.

Goal understands Yanga are looking at several options including former coach Hans van der Pluijm but
the name of Aussems, who guided Simba to the league title in the 2018-19 campaign before he was shown the exit door after a poor show in the Caf Champions League, has also emerged.
