Proposed stars Hudson Odoi, Inaki Williams, Tariq Lamptey and Eddie Nketiah into Black Stars not automatic but will first need strong recommendation

Proposed top talents of Hudson Odoi, Inaki Williams, Tariq Lamptey, Salisu Mohammed and Eddie Nketiah into Black Stars for 2022 FIFA World Cup is not automatic but will first need strong recommendation from Ghana technical team before they can go the Qatar, reveals GFA Communications Director.

Having been heavily linked with a bid to play for Ghana, English Premier League trio Tariq Lamptey, Eddie Nketiah, Callum Hudson Odoi and LaLiga bond Inaki Williams can only feature for the West African country under the recommendation of Black Stars technical staff.

The named stars have been called by fans to play for Black Stars in the upcoming Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup in November after Ghana sank Nigeria in the African playoff stage.

Ghana managed a goalless draw at home before Partey struck first in Abuja in what would have saw Ghana through to the World Cup on a 1-0 aggregate score line but Troost Ekong equalized from the spot kick which was still not enough for the Super Green Eagles.

Ghana who have made changes in both the technical after sacking Milovan Rajevac after AFCON in Cameroon and playing departments, are looking forward to raise a formidable side for the Qatar tournament. In the World Cup finals, interim boss Otto Addo could see his role overtaken by former Nottingham Forest manager Chris Hughton or a new man . Hughton currently airs as the technical adviser of Ghana football.

On the playing body, foreign stars could be purchased after a number of AS Roma forward Felix Afena-Gyan, Elisha Owusu and Club Brugge defender Dennis Odoi impressed in their final World Cup qualifiers.

After that crunchy and vital victory, while the Ghana Football Association saw impacts of these players, Ghanaian fans have urged adding to willingness of the football association to register more quality of Ghanaian descent for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

But it seems the GFA will not do that in isolation and any move to register players would be preceded by the Black Stars’ technical staff recommendation.

That has been revealed by the GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum explicitly claimed that FA cannot begin the process of a nationality switch of a Ghanaian player born abroad without the recommendation of the Black Stars coaches.

“I don’t know the players we want to pursue. The truth is that let’s leave that to the coach. When Otto Addo got the job, he decided to bring Dennis Odoi and Elisha Owusu. He gave us pressure; we went through the process and we got the two players.”

“When C.K took the job, he decided to bring Akwasi Otchere Wriedt and we did everything possible to bring him. Under C.K Akunnor we went to France to visit Alexander Djiku and we did all we could to change his nationality,” he said in an interview with Joy FM.

It’s been revealed in Ghana Soccer Net that the GFA has started discussions for Callum Hudson Odoi, Eddie Nketiah, Tariq Lamptey, Inaki Williams, Salisu Mohammed and a couple.

However, their Black Stars eligibility is not guaranteed and may depend on who Ghana appoint as permanent Black Stars coach with Christ Hughton and Otto Addo in run for the top managerial job.

All linked players have been sensational for their respective clubs abroad. Chelsea ace Callum Hudson Odoi has get some considerable minutes under Thomas Tuchel but it was unfortunate that the potential Black Stars man missed out in Chelsea’s Champions League clash against Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Tuesday evening. Chelsea are out after 4-5 defeat to Madrid over 2-leg tie in quarter-finals of the European first tier competition.

Tariq Lamptey has also emerged undroppable in Brighton XI this season and has tipped a huge competitor for Chelsea star Reece James and Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold at the Three Lions.

Eddie Nketiah has play some good games for Arsenal this season. Nketiah is England’s all-time top scorer at U21 level with 16 goals and believes he has a better chance of featuring at the World Cup with Ghana than with England, claimed by the Daily Mail.

Inaki William has ever led Atletico Bilbao lines in the LaLiga for years now. The 27-year old has netted 7goals/3 assists in 31 games for the Spanish side this season. Players’ inclusion to Qatar will undoubtedly make Ghana one of the teams to beat in 2022 World Cup.

The West African side have been placed in Group H along with Portugal, South Korean and Uruguay.
