Al Ahly sign former Zamalek forward Mahmoud Kahraba, and he calls Ahly his “home”

Al Ahly of Egypt completed the signing of former Zamalek forward Mahmoud Kahraba on a free transfer on Friday.

Following a mutual consent, Kahraba who left Zamalek July this year for Primeira Liga outfit CD Aves terminated his contract with the Portuguese side to make a return to homeland but this time to a side he had developed so passionate playing against, Al Ahly.

The forward had ever been linked with a move to Al Ahly even during his first two months of stay at Aves. After completing his four and half year contract signing that will see him remain with the Red Devils until summer 2024, Kahraba reflected on his new move, calling Al Ahly as “my home.”

“Good people always win in the end. The real victory for me is returning to my home, Al Ahly”, Kahraba posted on Instagram.

Many Zamalek fans would have welcomed their former Super Star back home after winning the 2014-2015 Egyptian League, Egyptian Cup in 2015 and the 2018-2019 CAF Confederation Cup all with Zamalek but fate has found Kahraba at their direct rivals.

Kahraba’s signing would be positive news for Ahly boss Rene Weiler who is worried with his attack’s inability to get the ground running in both domestic and continental campaigns.

Ahly are preparing to exploit the January transfer window, and despite capturing the former Zamalek man, the Cairo based club would still dig into next month’s window.
