Mikel Arteta happy for Thomas Partey return in Arsenal win over AC Milan in Dubia Super Cup

Arsenal beat AC Milan in their second friendly game in the World Cup break ahead of restart of the Premier League. While the win was a positive news for Mikel Arteta, Arsenal have had one of their best performers of the season Thomas Partey joined camp and featured in beating of Serie A side AC Milan Tuesday following Ghana’s early exit from the Qatar World Cup.

Mikel Arteta has spoken about Thomas Partey after the Ghanaian International returned from the World Cup to help the Gunners in 2-1 victory over AC Milan in the Cup game at Al-Maktoum Stadium, Dubia.

Goals from Reiss Nelson and  Martin Odegaard gave Arsenal a 2-0 lead before Fikayo Tomori put one back for the Italian side as Arteta’s side clinched the Super Cup.

Partey started the game in a three man midfield along with Sambi Lokonga and Ordeegard and the Ghanaian impressed with Arteta happy for Partey’s return.

The Arsenal boss acknowledged that Party played more minutes at the World Cup and delight over the midfielder’s readiness to get things starter as soon as possible at the Gunners.

“He played a lot [at the World Cup] & it takes a few days to reset & start to focus on the team. The good thing we have is that everyone has been showing that they are desperate to get back & they want to be ready as quickly as possible.”

Party featured in all Ghana group stages games but has been heavily criticised for his involvement on the pitch. Ghana lost to Portugal and Uruguay but secure their only 3 points of the tournament after beating South Korea in their second game.
