Asante Kotoko complete signing of Maxwell Agyemang from Wamanafo Mighty Royals on three year deal

Ghana Premier League outfit Asante Kotoko have complete the signing of Maxwell Agyemang from Wamanafo Mighty Royal after announcing the deal on twitter.

 

The center-back has signed a three year deal until summer 2024 as Kotoko warm up their transfer activities.

The second placed side from last season have been slow in the transfer window seeing the likes of Hearts of Oak, Medeama SC, Legon Cities and King Faisal take the lead.

However, the Reds have been vibrant in the window since beginning of this week and after announcing the signing of Richmond Lamptey from Inter Allies two days ago, they have added within their ranks Maxwell Agyemang on Wednesday.

Agyeman is so far Kotoko’s second summer signing where a number could follow him to the Baba Yara Stadium in coming days.

Kotoko already have shortage of central defenders with the club boasting of Abdul Ganiyu, Yussif Mubarik and Andrews Appau, Wahab Adams.

The Kumasi based side are on the verge of losing two of Wahab Adams and Ganiyu who have gradually become a senior figure for the Black Stars.

Wahab Adams contract expired August 29 and has reportedly joined Ethiopian side Wolkite Ketema  for undisclosed fee reveals transfer market.

Ganiyu contract has also ran out in August with negotiations for new extension ongoing. However, other sources claim Kotoko could lose the defender to Middle East African countries.

With Wahab and Ganiyu departure been anticipated at Kotoko, they club have since began finding replacement and Agyemang was penciled down as a potential.

A deal for the defender to switch camp to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium was agreed on Monday before signing his contract on Wednesday.

He now adds up to Yussif Mubarik, Andrew Appau as Kotoko central defenders with more expected to join before the season starts in October.
