Generation Foot founder Mady Toure urges Sadio Mane to leave Liverpool for Barcelona or Real Madrid
Founder of Senegalese side Generation Foot Academy Mady Toure has urged his former client Sadio Mane to depart Anfield for either Camp Nou or Santiago Bernabéu.
The winners of the Senegal Premier League last season, Generation Foot are known to train Papiss Cisse, Diafra Sakho, current Watford winger Ismaila Sarr and Liverpool star Sadio Mane.
All these players at a point in time have been successful in their football career, and collecting good name for Generation Football Academy in the International football scene.
Mane, however, is their most famous former student and recently finished fourth in the voting for the 2019 Ballon d’Or behind only all-time greats Lionel Messi, the winner, and Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool team-mate Virgil van Dijk.
Mane was also instrumental in helping Liverpool to win the UEFA Champions League, Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup, and assisting Liverpool to open a 14 point-gab off second place Manchester City in the EPL.
Mady Toure, who founded the Generation Foot academy in Dakar where Mane once trained, believes is time Mane leaves Liverpool and make a summer transfer to one of the two Spanish giants, Barcelona or Real Madrid.
“The fact Sadio has won the African Ballon d’Or will spur him on to win the European one too,” Toure told the Guardian with Mane having recently been named CAF African Player of the Year, beating Mohamed Salah and Riyad Mahrez to the earlier award earlier this month.
“That’s his objective. Sadio always told me he would become one of the best players in the world.
“He said that to me and now he is among them but he has to leave Liverpool now.
“It’s his last year and he has to leave Liverpool when it’s up to go to Barcelona or Real Madrid.”
Mane has be a key figure at Anfield since completing his £34 million transfer from Southampton in 2016, grabbing a total of 74 goals and 33 assists in 152 matches for Liverpool.
