OFFICIAL: Ghana forward Majeed Waris joins French Ligue 1 side Strasbourg until 2022

Ghanaian forward Majeed Waris has completed a move from FC Porto to French Ligue 1 outfits Strasbourg to complete his fourth stint in French top-flight.

Majeed Waris signed two-year contract with Strasbourg on Thursday morning that will see him remain at Stade de la Meinau until the end of the 2022 season.

The 28-year-old Black Stars forward saw his playing time at Porto limited after joining the Portuguese giants in 2018.

He was later loaned out to Nantes for the whole of the 2018-2019 season managing five goals and six assists in 33 appearances for Nantes last season.

After returning to Porto for the ongoing season, Waris failed to register an appearance for Porto leading his departure to Ligue 1 side Strasbourg in this January transfer window.

This will mark Waris’ fourth stint in Ligue 1, having played for Valenciennes in 2014, Lorient between 2015 and 2018, and Nantes last term.

Waris will compete with Ivory Coast’s Lamine Kone, South African forward Lebo Mothiba and Cape Verdean striker Nuno da Costa, as his African teammates.
