Hearts of Oak part company with former Al Hilal forward Abednego Tetteh

Ghana Premier League champions, Hearts of Oak have terminated the contract of striker Abednego Tetteh. The Ghanaian International who played for Sudanese giants Al Hilal in 2016/2017 season did not fare well in his 15 months at Hearts leading to his exit.

The former Bechem United forward was excluded from Hearts squad for the 2021-22 CAF Champions League. He bid farewell to his teammates, the technical team as well as fans on his official Facebook page.

He leaves Hearts with two medals as the Phobians clinched the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup. However, he would have been happy if he had played more matches following five appearances and no goal.

The striker earlier confirmed his departure from Ghana’s capital.

The former Bechem United hitman joined the Phobians in May 2020 to provide a major squad boost for the side.

Although he was tipped to lead the lines for the team in the 2020/2021 football season, Abednego Tetteh did not stay fit to be involved as he would have expected.

On the back of speculation that he will see his contract terminated at the end of the season, the striker himself has announced on Facebook that he is leaving Hearts of Oak.

“Good bye mates, we shall meet again maybes as opponents or somewhere else. Good luck in your CAF competition and the coming League.

“The moments we had still remain in my heart and mind. To the beautiful supporters thanks for your supports. Not forgetting the team doctors love you guys. Cowards never start.

“The Weak never finish And the strong never quit,” the post on the Facebook page of the striker reads.
