Kwame Peprah: King Faisal announce transfer to Orlando Pirates worth $150,000 until 2024

The King Faisal’s season top scorer has officially joined South African outfit Orlando Pirates until the summer of 2024.

The PSL giants are on preparations for the 2021-2022 season with ambitions of winning the league title since 2012 and the Caf Confederation.

They have strengthened their squad ahead of their club’s new targets while they could not get thing done without Ghanaian International Kwame Peprah who was transfer target for Asante Kotoko.

Tanzanian giants Simba SC and AS Vita Club among those reportedly interested in the Ghana International but Pirates head up to complete move for the 20-year old forward.

Pirates have been on the negotiations table with Peprah’s former club King Faisal for weeks now as the two clubs have now struck a deal that will see the Black Stars forward move to Soweto.

Three weeks ago, Grusah revealed his desire for Peprah to seal a bumper move away from the Ghana Premier League and his prayers have been answered.

“I am praying for Kwame (Peprah) to get a foreign contract, for him to get a good team so the club can also benefit, Grusah said to Joy Sports via GhanaWeb.

“Insha Allah on the local and international stage we are ready,” Grusah responded when quizzed about what he will do if good offers (including Orlando Pirates) come in for Kwame Peprah.

Weeks later, confirmation from Ghana Premier League club owner Grusah on Thursday afternoon reads, “We have transferred Kwame Peprah to Orlando Pirates in South Africa. He has signed a three-year deal worth $150, 000,” Grusah told Angel FM in Kumasi.

Kwame Peprah joined King Faisal last season as a replacement for Ibrahim Osman who was only on loan from Asante Kotoko. With his loan move expiring and his permanent employers impressed about his spell, Kotoko recalled Osman ahead of the 2020-2021 season.

Though Osman struggled at Asante Kotoko, his departure at King Faisal however paved way for Peprah to explore in the ended season helping the Kumasi based side to avoid relegation while emerging as the club’s top scorer with 12 goals 10 assists.

That goal-tally also put him on second position in the overall Ghana Premier League top scorer chat behind Diawisie Taylor who netted 18 goals. It’s understood that Pirates are also tracking Taylor who plays for Karela United.

Peprah jet off Ghana early last week to complete his mandatory Pirates medical last Tuesday before penning a three year deal worth $150,000 according to Kickgh.com.

While the Premier Soccer League starts this Friday, Pirates will host Stellenbosch on Saturday afternoon and Peprah is expected to make his debut. He is a replacement for departed Makusu.
