Hearts of Oak striker Bernard Arthur reportedly close to joining Great Olympics

Hearts of Oak striker Bernard Arthur is tipped to joining city rivals Great Olympics after the latter have reached agreement in principle with Arthur to join them, only small details to settle with Hearts before the striker can officially join Olympics is left.

Arthur has struggled to adopt life at the Accra Sports Stadium since completing a move the Hearts on a free transfer before the start of the 2019-2020 season.

Despite been left out completely at Hearts, falling behind Joseph Esso, Kofi Kodzi and Daniel Afriyie Barnie in the striking pegging order, Bernard Arthur’s qualities have been prioritize at the receiving end which prompted Olympics to contact the 2000 CAF Champions League winners ahead a move for the striker.

It is reported that talks over Arthur have reached far and the 23-year-old Ghanaian forward is expected to sign a deal at Great Olympics.

The 23-year-old got Hearts of Oak the match winner against Liberty Professionals, coming on from the bench to succumb his former side Liberty to the bitter side of results after Hearts run away from the Karl Raindorf Park with a 2-1 victory in week 5 of the Ghana Premier League.

The former Liberty man, who scored 10 goals for the Scientific Soccer Lads out of 24 appearances in the 2016-17 season, never planned of such a difficult dwell with the Phobians. The striker described in the first interview his signing for Hearts of Oak as a dream come true.

”Growing up in Dansoman, football has always been my dream and Hearts of Oak has always been my heart”.

“Watching them play, their cheerful supporters, it has always been my dream to wear the Phobian colours.

”I am here to win as a team, not as an individual. I am here to help Accra Hearts of Oak.”

He left Liberty to join Tanzania giants Azam Football Club in November 2017 before completing a sensational move to Ain M’lila in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 in December 2018.
