Mikel Arteta identifies Sevilla Antonio Zarzana as transfer target, and could be first signing for the Arsenal manager

Arsenal confirmed Arteta’s appointment yesterday at club’s website, and the new boss is preparing the watch Arsenal’s clash against Everton this afternoon from the Stands.

Having disclosed that he is yet to discuss transfer plans with Arsenal big bosses, the former Manchester City assistant manager has already identified one of his transfer targets.

When asked about the January transfer window, Arteta said, “We haven’t discussed the transfer windows.”

However, the Arsenal boss has eyed Antonio Zarzana, and knee to make the Sevilla teenager his first signing, as claimed by Spanish publication Estadio Deportivo.

Zarzana is a Spanish footballer who joined Sevilla U-19 from to the Youth side in July 2018 and the midfielder could be Arteta’s first signing in January or in the summer.

Zarzana who is likened to Manchester City ace David Silva is also tracked by Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United. “I heard that Real Madrid had put an offer in for me last year, but I have always wanted to make my debut with the first team here,” he confirmed Madrid interest.

This can scuff Arteta’s chances of grabbing the teenage sensation, but with the player viewing the Arsenal manager as his mentor can also make Arteta favorite to land “next Silva” as reports further claim that Arsenal have opened negotiations with Sevilla.
