Pitso Mosimane good in recovery as Al Ahly provide updates on coronavirus status

Al Ahly’s medical committee have provided an update on head coach Pitso Mosimane’s COVID-19 reocvery status.

The Red Devils had released a statement last week announcing that Pitso Mosimane tested positive for COVID-19.

As a result, Mosimane was ruled out of Al Ahly’s 3-0 win over newly-promoted Ghazl El-Mahalla in the Egyptian Premier League.

The 56-year-old is now also set to miss out on their trip to face Niger’s SONIDEP in the first round of the CAF Champions League, according to Al Ahly’s head of medical committee Mohamed Shawky.

“[Pisto] Mosimane is fine and does not show symptoms. He is now in quarantine,” Shawky told ON Time Sports.

“He underwent a PCR test yesterday, and unfortunately, its result was positive. We will be conducting another test for him tomorrow,” he added.

Mosimane’s assistant manager Cavin Johnson will now lead Al Ahly for the second time during their upcoming game against SONDIEP on Wednesday.
