Al Ahly could still sign TP Mazembe forward Jackson Muleka after Katumbi forced to consider offer

The Ravens forward has attracted interest from French clubs in the last three months after his goal scoring prowess became major headlines in discussions in French speaking countries.

Muleka was linked with a move to Ligue 1 giants Olympique de Marseille just last month but the deal is reportedly failed for undisclosed reasons.

However, Egyptian duo Al Ahly and Zamalek offered the Dr Congo International a life in the Egyptian Premier League but Mazembe president Moise Katumbi rejected an offer from Ahly in particular for Muleka just last month.

With France football season being cancelled in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, seeing Racing Club Lens gain abrupt promotion to the French Ligue 1 next season, the TP Mazembe striker appears one of the strikers they have been targeted as claimed by France Football News.

Lens and TP Mazembe are believed to opened negotiations for the 20-year old forward but the deal has collapsed due to the Ligue 1 outfits feeling Katumbi’s asking price of €2.3million (R45-million) is too heavy for a young player in Africa, according to the France publication.

KickOff has today revealed that Al Ahly are ready to offer €2.3million asking price for the CAF Champions League top scorer as the Cairo based side look poised to beat Lens and Zamalek to the signing of Muleka.

It’s understood that Katumbi would have preferred a move to Europe for Muleka instead of, to any of his Champions League rivals. But a deal from France falling through could force the Mazembe president to sell to Al Ahly.

Muleka has scored 14 goals in 30 games in Africa’s elite club competition since making his debut in the 2017/18 season.
