Hearts of Oak beat the transfer deadline to seal the signing of striker Maxwell Abbey Quaye on a free transfer.

The skriker had been linked with a move to league champions all summer but a deal failed to materialized due to the departure of former boss Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum who was a huge admirer of the Great Olympics star.

Hearts of Oak entered into the race along the line in a attempt to beat the rivals to Maxwell Abbey Quaye. After appearing the only big gang following the redrawal of Kotoko, Hearts snatched the player’s signature.

The centre-forward has signed a two-year contract with the Phobians after leaving city rivals Great Olympics following the expiration of his contract. He sealed his move on the transfer deadline day on Monday.

Abbey Quaye has been a mainstay in the Olympics team since their return to the Ghanaian top-flight with his outstanding performances.

Abbey Quaye has over 20 goals in 60 appearances across the last three seasons in the Ghana Premier League.
