REVEALED: Kjetil Zachariassen is planning to drag Asante Kotoko to face GFA Players’ Status Committee according to Counsel Prosper Yaw Ntow

Ghana Premier league side Asante Kotoko sacked their boss Kjetil Zachariassen some weeks ago following the Norwegian’s poor performance in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.

The formal termination of Zachariassen’s contract would have seen Kotoko pay a huge some of compensation to the former Ash Gold manager.

However, there was undisclosed clause that the Kumasi based club premised their termination of Zachariassen’s appointment on, which saved Kotoko from paying that compensation after terminating the Norwegian’s running-contract.

This means, the former Ash Gold coach was entitle to only his next three months salaries as it’s understood. But reports indicate that Zachariassen is unsatisfied with how the Premier League side have went about his sacking issue, and already held talks with his Counsel Prosper Yaw Ntow Esq, who is also the Counsel for the club’s former coach C.K Akunnor.

Prosper Yaw Ntow revealed the outcome of the talks that Kotoko would be drag to the GFA’s Players’ Status Committee but only one condition, that is when Kotoko fail to honour their latest claim.

The Counsel revealed this when speaking to Kumasi FM, claimed by Ghana Guardian, and it is understood that the Zachariassen and Council have made latest claims to the management of Asante Kotoko. The Counsel believes the clause that the Ghana League Champions used in terminating his client’s contract is wrongfully interpreted.

“It is true I’m the counsel for Coach Zachariason. I have no qualms with anyone at Kotoko but I just want the right things to be done in conducting its activities in conformity with the law.” He said

“The good works I did for CK Akonnor has necessitated the need for coach Zachariason and his agent to seek redress through me.”

“The clause Kotoko has invoked as evidence to terminate Zachariasen’s appointment is wrong.

“We have given them an ultimatum to response to our claims and the contract clearly states the next line of action if they fail to respond to us, thus, to the Player Status Committee, CAF and then FIFA.” He added.

The Counsel assisted C.K Akunnor to receive the necessary compensation from Asante Kotoko after being fired by Asante Kotoko.
