Hearts of Oak monitoring on loan deadly forward Issah Kuka amid misfiring striking department
Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak are set to recall on loan at Real Tamale United forward Issah Kuka back to the club at the end of the season.
With Slavk Matic taking over the managerial role last month, Hearts of Oak looked revived and remarkable improvements have been seen in defense and midfield but their attacking department is yet to receive Matic’s rythm.
Until last Sunday’s FA Cup defeat in the hands of Dreams FC, Hearts of Oak had been unbeaten under whelm of the Serbian International but it has been evident the former Ghana Premier League champions struggle in front of goal.
With the ongoing transfer window, the Phobians have been linked with a move for a couple of forwards but since there are several challenges regarding succeeding in bring those names to the capital, Hearts of Oak have considered recalling loanees and signing free agents.
Among the names on Hearts radar is their youngster Issah Kuka who was loaned out to Real Tamale United last season. The forward struggled at RTU in his first season scoring 3 goals accross all competitions.
With an improved performance this season, Kuka has not just scored 6 goals in 10 games- a sensational stats off many top class strikers in the Ghanaian top flight- but is the leading man for RTU this season.
Hearts of Oak have already planned to recall Kuka back to the club at the end of the current campaign. In a loan statement on their website, the club said “The Phobians are keenly monitoring his progress”.
Kuka is Hearts of Oak youth (Auroras) product and was promoted to the first team before being loaned out to the Northern side last term.
There is an insider’s claim that Hearts need the forward this January after 5 first team players currently serving Ghana at the 2022 CHAN tournament in Algeria. The likes of Issac Mensah and Kwadwo Obeng Junior, Linda Mtange and Junior Kaaba shrugging, Hearts may like to bring the 20-year old back this January.
Earlier reports on Wednesday morning have suggested that Hearts of Oak board member Alhaji Akambi has denied Hearts’ interest in recalling Issah Kuka which could be a minority stance.
The FA Cup champions are understood to begin process to land the striker making enquires to terminate Kaku’s loan agreement with RTU and Hearts of Oak have reportedly been asked to pay GHC 100,000 to get the process completed.
Whether this January or at the end of the season, Kaku will be a good addition to Hearts’ attacking department.
