Hearts of Oak close in on Caleb Amankwa and Salifu Ibrahim moves

The search for first major league title since 2009 has forced Hearts of Oak to enter into the upcoming transfer window- that opens February.

It has been unusual of the Accra based side to bring in household names whiles the season reaches the second round but after setting in sight the ambition to lift this season’s Ghana Premier League, it has become a necessity.

While a host of names have been linked with a move to Hearts, Papic’s side are reportedly only ready to sign few but top quality players available in the transfer market.

Caleb Amankwa and Salifu Ibrahim appears the two Hearts of Oak have began their winter transfer activity with though few more names could be added to their ranks.

Caleb Amankwa is a free man now after failing to reach new terms with his former side Aduana Stars December 2019, and meanwhile, Salifu Ibrahim is still contracted at Eleven Wonders until 2023.

Caleb, 23, has played 5 Ghana Premier League games for Aduana Stars in the 2020/2021 before leaving their camp, missing in their last five clashes with Berekum Chelsea, Great Olympics, Medeama SC, Legon Cities and Asante Kotoko.

The 23-year old joined Aduana from West African Football Academy (WAFA) in 2018, played 3 continues seasons for the Dormaa based and is the man who met Hearts’ need assessment ahead of the February transfer window.

Hearts have been in contacts with Caleb for some time now and have reportedly had the breakthrough in negotiations while they could announce the transfer any time soon claimed by Ghanasoccernet.

Salifu, 20, has also risen to prominence in Eleven Wonders, putting up impressive displays since season’s opener against Asante Kotoko in Matchday 1 of the Ghana Premier League.

The 20-year old has so far swoop more than 5 Ghana premier League Man-Of-The-Match awards at that tender age to become the man with most MOTM awrds, and nearly, lifting bigger of such award, Player-Of-The-Month December but was beaten to the ultimate by WAFA’s Daniel Lomotey- who leads the Ghana Premier League with 8 goals.

Salifu’s performance has attracted him interests from Ash Gold, Medeama, Asante Kotoko, Aduana Stars and Hearts of Oak, but the winger is reportedly eyeing a move to either Kotoko or Hearts.

Despite huge interest in Salifu, no official bid had been made until last Monday as well as, as of today Wednesday, only that Ash Gold are reportedly ready to submit a bid to Eleven Wonders before the end of this week.

After Hearts of Oak aware of that, they have been in serious contacts with Salifu’s entourage over a possible move next month.

It’s reckoned that talks are in advanced stage and would announce a deal for the 20-year old attacking midfielder very soon.
