Kaizer Chiefs return to winning ways, thumbing Stellenbosch 4-0 to go 10 points clear on ABSA table

Kaizer Chiefs return to winning ways, demolishing Stellenbosch 4-0 in South African Premier League today at Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday evening, haven been beaten 2-1 by Maritzburg United last Sunday in Telkom semifinals.

After making four changes to his eleven that were beaten by Maritzburg , Ernst Middendorp’s side took a flying start as Ngezana rose to head home Lebogang Manyama’s corner to give Chiefs a deserving lead 11’ minutes into the game.

Thirteen minutes after Ngezana’s strike, Samir Nurkovic score from another corner, this time the delivery was incurred by Manyama.

Nurkovic completed his brace heading home a rebound from Dumisani Zuma’s one-on-one effort. Zuma was sent through on goal but his initial strike was saved by Stellenbosch keeper Boy de Jong, Nurkovic was there on time to score from the rebound on the 77’ minute.

Dumisani Zuma finally got his name on the score sheet tapping in from close range after a cut-back from Reeve Frosler in stoppage time (90+4).

Kaizer Chiefs are ten-points clear at the top of the log with 31 points above Mamelodi Sundowns who still have a game in hand, while Stellies drop down to third from bottom with 11 points.
