Richard Ofori’s Maritzburg continue poor run of form e in South Africa Premier League after SuperSport defeat
Black Stars keeper Richard Ofori was in posts seeing his side Maritzburg United being defeated by third place SuperSport United at Harry Gwala Stadium on Wednesday.
Ofori and his side enjoyed a very good game against Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom knockout beating Chiefs 2-1 in the semifinals of the Telkom last Sunday.
However, their poor run of form in the ABSA Premier League continued. Maritzburg had failed to manage a win from their last two Premier League games, and were hoping to secure their first win from their last three ABSA games when they Welcomed SuperSport to Harry Gwala Stadium.
But Kudakwashe Mahachi 12’ minute and Sipho Percevale Mbule 73’ minute strikes subjected Maritzburg and Ofori to 2-0 defeat on Wednesday, and that makes Ofori’s side three games without a win from their last three ABSA games.
Maritzburg sit 9th on the league log with 13 points, and would travel to Durban to see whether they can claim their fourth win of the season against AmaZulu on Sunday.
