Garrido happy after guiding Etoile’s victory against Al Ahly in Champions League opener
Etoile du Sahel manager, Juan Carlos Garrido, expressed his satisfaction with his side’s slim victory against Al Ahly in Champions League opener of group stage games.
In their opening group stage game in the CAF Champions League, Etoile managed to secure a 1-0 against Al Ahly, thanks to a Yassine Chikhaoui second half strike that sink Ahly.
After the game, recently appointed Etoile manager Garrido commented on the game saying that his side earned the win after a lot of effort.
“We played against a very big team in Al Ahly and the game was very tough,” Garrido told Beinsports TV channel.
“We knew that the Al Ahly game wasn’t going to be easy at all and would have to make a lot of effort.
“I’m very happy with the result, because we played to win and we worked seriously.
“At the end we reached our goal and we’ll prepare for our next encounter,” he concluded.
