Kwame Bonsu Conte- Esperance are motivated to beat Raja Casablanca ahead of Champions League

Esperance midfielder Kwame Bonsu Conte has highlighted that his side Esperance are always motivated to beat Morocco heavyweights Raja Casablanca ahead of their Champions League group stage opener on Saturday evening.

The Ghanaian midfielder joined Esperance at the beginning of this season and has established himself as a key performer for the Tunisian side ever since from Ghana Premier League power house Asante Kotoko.

His eye-catching performances both in domestic and continental football landscapes so far have caught the attention of many clubs across and Europe. After netting his debut goal for Esperance mid this month, the former Asante Kotoko midfielder is set to make yet another big appearance against Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca in the CAF Champions League on Saturday evening.

Ahead of the game, Bonsu Conte believes his side are motivated to beat Moroccans on Saturday despite having respect for the Raja.

“We (Esperance) have the motivation to beat Raja Casablanca. Raja is a good team no doubt about that, we have to give them that respect” Conte told ANGEL SPORTS in Kumasi.

“But we are always motivated to pick the three points against them on Sunday”.

The Ghanaian midfielder was then asked to highlight what their X factor has be in motivating Esperance ahead of their game against the Raja. Conte believes Esperance always play to win irrespective of the opponent and Raja is no exception.

“Esperance always play to win, irrespective. There is no easy game for us now and before, we have to win. At Esperance, it’s all and always about win”.

Conte’s revelation goes a long way to explain the reason behind Esperance’s outstanding campaigns in the 1994 and 2018-2019 CAF Champions League, where the Tunisian giants remained unbeaten in each campaign. These achievements make Esperance the first club to win the Champions League twice without losing a game.
