ADUANA STARS welcomed Inter Allies to the Nana Agyemang Badu Stadium in Dormaa in their opener of the 2019-2020 Ghana Premier League, and thrashed the Tema based side 4-0 within 90’ minute of regular football.

Former Asante Kotoko forward Yahaya Mohammed opened the scoring for Aduana Star 14’ minutes into start before registering each goal on 18’ and 72’ minutes to complete a first hat-trick of the season.

AT THE OBUASI LEN CLAY STADIUM, CAF Confederation Cup campaigners Ash Gold recorded emphatic 3-0 victory over returning Great Olympics. However, Ash Gold dominated their opponents throughout the game. Mubarik Yussif 18’ minute strike and Amos Addai on the 37’ minute handed Ash Gold a 2-0 lead in the first half before WAFU Golden Boot winner Shafiu Mumuni converted 69’ minute penalty to send the game 3-0 up for Ash Gold. The Miners are second on the league log after Aduana Stars.

IN KUMASI, title favorites Asante Kotoko open their campaign with a slim 1-0 victory over Techiman Eleven Wonders at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Justice Blay broke the deadlock just two minutes into the game, to emerge as the player to score the first goal of the 2019-2020 Ghana Premier League, and the fastest goal of the season so far.

Songne Yacouba struck to double Kotoko lead afterwards but his goal was disallowed for offside, and Justice Blay shot from outside the box minutes later went straight to the up right of the woodwork.

AT ACCRA SPORTS STADIUM, Hearts of Oak hosted 2011 Ghana Premier League winners Berekum Chelsea but the Phobians saw the direct opposite of victory. Jonah Attuquaye struck to put Berekum Chelsea ahead 34’ minutes on the clock.

This goal would have only be the leveler for Chelsea instead as Kotoko loanee Ibrahim Danlad produced a superb save to deny Joseph Esso the opener 13’ minute inside the first half. Kim Grant’s side failed to convert their chances which saw them lift the first defeat of the season.

IN CAPE COAST, Medeama SC returned in the second half to put three past home side Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs after a goalless draw in the first half. Dwarfs grabbed a consolation to end the show 3-1 in favor of Medeama SC.
