Hearts of Oak board member Alhaji Braimah Akambi exonerated from bribery accusation as ruled by investigative committee

Hearts of Oak board member Alhaji Braimah Akambi has been exonerated from recent bribery allegations leveled against him by the former Public Relations Officer of the National Chapter Committee (NCC), Sunsum Busumuru.

Last month, the supporter’s body of the Hearts of Oak alleged that Alhaji Akambi took GHC 200 bribe from an Nkoranza Warriors official he introduced to the club for the transfer of Emmanuel Sarkodie, now a Kotoko player.

According to Sunsum, the official from Nkoranza Warriors was given GHC500 after meeting Hearts of Oak officials for transportation and Alhaji Akambi arranged for a kick back of GHC200 from the original amount.

But Hearts of Oak in their effort to establish the truth of the matter formed a three member committee to investigate on the matter.

Justice Ivy Heward Mills, Frank Nelson Nwokolo, Board Members, and Mr. Frederick Moore, Managing Director of the club were the members set up to investigate the matter.

But according to Oyerepa FM in Kumasi, the committee after completing their investigation have cleared Akambi free from the bribery accusation and is no wrong doer.

Alhaji Akambi, also a Board Member stepped aside for investigations to be carried out, and will return to his official position after he has been exonerated by the committee.
