Bechem United vow to prove point against Ghana Premier League defending champions Hearts of Oak

Hearts of Oak would have to beat Bechem United to keep chase for defending their Ghana Premier League title alive. The African campaigners will welcome the Bechem based side to the Cape Coast Stadium for matchday 11 of Ghana’s top flight.

Hearts have become unstoppable in recent times- preceding a poor start to the 2021-2022 Ghana Premier League after failing to pick a win in their first four games.

During this period, Hearts were battling in the African inter club football as they failed to enter into any group stage of the Champions League and Confederation Cup.

Hearts have beaten the likes of Elmina Sharks, Accra Lions and Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League while drawing with Dreams FC in tough venue Dawu to get back on track of the local season.

Bechem United are the next opponent to launch a stop to Hearts’ fine form with the former willing to prove a point against Samuel Boadu’s men.

Bechem’s spokesman Emmanuel Gyasi Attuahene has stated that they will surprise Hearts on Sunday.

Both Hearts of Oak and Bechem United won their last Premier League games and coming up face-to-face on Sunday will be a blockbuster encounter.

While Hearts booked 2-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea in outstanding fixture, Bechem United beat third place side King Faisal 1-0 at home.

“We are going to definitely prove a point against Hearts of Oak on Sunday. Beating AshGold in the FA Cup and King Faisal in the League mean a lot, and we are going to build on that,” said Emmanuel Gyasi Attuahene in an interview with Kessben Fm.

He continued, “Last season we conceded more goals against Heart and we have worked on that. We have a good team this season and definitely, we will prove a point.”

Bechem United is currently lying on the 4th position with 17 points while Hearts of Oak is at the 9th position with 13 points with outstanding games at hand against Asante Kotoko.

Despite Bechem United’s ambition, it would be difficult to break Hearts of Oak down especially when the Phobians play at home.

Currently, Hearts are one of the best teams in terms of keeping the ball together with Accra Lions. The likes of Abu Ushau, Frederick Ansah Botchway, Salim Adams, Salifu Ibrahim and Gladson Awako have been the men behind Hearts’ good plays.

Meanwhile, the likes of Kofi Kordzi and Afriyie Barnieh have scored the chances created from midfield. Kordzi burst into the scene against Berekum Chelsea scoring Hearts all two goals last Wednesday.
