Ghana forward Bernard Tekpetey ready for UEFA Champions League campaign with Ludogorets next season

Ghana and Ludogorets forward Bernard Tekpetey is hoping his team can qualify to the group stage of the UEFA Champions League next season.

The Bulgarian giants have qualified for the competition after winning the league title this season.

However, they would have to compete in the qualifiers in order to book a place in the group stage of the competition.

Tekpetey played an important role for Ludogorets scoring 10 goals in 24 appearances to help the team secure the title last season.

Speaking in an interview in his native home country, Bernard Tekpetei disclosed that the club will be ready to listen for offers if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

“I had talks with the management after the season ended. They informed me about the interest of other clubs in me because of my performances. However, I do not see how they will allow me to leave because they have ambitions to enter the Champions League,” Tekpetei told radio Angel FM.

“From the conversations we had, I understood that the club wants to help him in the Champions League playoffs, but if we do not enter the groups of the tournament, they can win good money for me,” said the former Schalke 04 player.

“I’m not thinking about a transfer either, because my team can play in the Champions League, which is good for me. I would only go to a top team,”,he added.
