Ghanaian midfielder Abdul Samed Salis excels as Clermont Foot shock Marseille

Ghanaian midfielder Abdul Samed Salis impressed as Clermont Foot stunned French giants Olympique Marseille at the Stade Velodrome.

Samed Salis played 81 minutes and was replaced by Jason Berthomier as the Ligue 1 newcomers defeated Marseille 2-0 on the road.

The visitors had a good start to the game and after just 13 minutes Guinea forward Mohammed Bayo broke the deadlock.

Gabon striker Jim Allevinah then sealed victory with six minutes remaining as Clermont Foot recorded a famous win.

Samed Salis has been an integral member of the club as they continue their fight for survival.

The victory sends them six points adrift of relegation places after 25 games in the season.

The 21-year-old has made 22 appearances for the club in Ligue 1.

He missed the Africa Cup of Nations last month due to an injury he picked during the winter break.
