Ajax identify Nordsjaelland forward Ernest Nuamah as Kudus Mohammed replacement

AFC Ajax have began search for Kudus Mohammed replacement after the future of the 23-year old remains highly uncertain at the Yohan Cruyff Arena this summer.

Kudus has attracted huge admiration from a number of European clubs this term attributing to the Ghanaian’s sensational display at Ajax over the past three years.

Interest in Kudus Mohammed has grown this summer with the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Brighton having crushes on the Black Stars midfielder.

Earlier the summer, Manchester United were reportedly in discussions with Ajax over a move for Kudus as Erik ten Hag embarked on a reunion attempt that would have strengthened his attacking lines ahead of the new Premier League season.

Ten Hag pulled out of the transfer, that would have seen Kudus completed his dream Premier League move, with the United boss doing everything to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea in alternative business.

London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal have also been heavily linked with United’s target over the past two weeks but no deal has materialized though the Ghanaian International wants a deal to London.

Arsenal reportedly prepared a £40million deal for Kudus earlier on while Chelsea were understood to reach personal terms with the Ajax man.

Just last week, there were rumours in English sources that Brighton have reached agreement to sign Kudus Mohammed from Ajax. On Monday, The Athletic reported that the Premier League outfit have agreed a deal in principle in the region of €40million (£34.5m; $44m) that would see Kudus Mohammed becomes Brighton’s highest purchase in history that will surpass price paid for Joao Pedro this summer, which was just under £30million.

However, the Ghanaian International has told close friends his desire to join either Chelsea or Arsenal this summer limiting, as it stands now, Brighton’s chances of landing Kudus.

However, Ajax are still confident of selling Kudus Mohammed to Brighton who are looking at the Ghanaian as one of the replacements for Moisés Caicedo if the Ecuadorian leaves the  American Express Community Stadium this summer.

Ajax have issued an ultimatum to Kudus to accept Brighton’s deal and have started the search for the 23-old’s replacement with FC Nordsjaelland forward Ernest Nuamah identified, learned from Ghana Football.

Ernest Nuamah, Ghanaian, 20, has risen to prominence in the Danish Superliga since last season. This term, the forward has had more than 100% goal-contribution scoring 4 goals/1 assist in three appearances for FC Nordsjaelland. The 20-year old has become a hot target for AC Milan, PSG, Lille, Marseille, Stade Reims, and Ajax will have to compete with these clubs for Nuamah’s signature.

Nuamah helped Ghana in 2023 U-23 African Cup of Nations hosted and won by Morocco. The Black Meteors failed to qualify from Group A that consisted of Morocco, Guinea and Congo. Nuamah scored in Ghana’s first game they won 3-2 over Congo.

With this summer’s transfer window closing on September 1, Ajax have penciled Nuamah if Kudus leaves.
