Kudus Mohammed Chelsea transfer an alternative to Paulo Dybala signing
Chelsea’s interest in Ajax forward Kudus Mohammed may come as an alternative approach to the transfer of AS Roma star Paulo Dybala. Chelsea have registered official interest in sensation Kudus Mohammed after contacting Ajax over a summer move, claimed The Athletic.
Kudus has become admired by Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino who identifies the Ghanaian International as a candidate to strengthen his side.
It’s understood Arsenal were preparing a £40million deal to sign Kudus Mohammed from Ajax but have been leapfrogged in the race for the forward after Chelsea close to agreeing personal terms with the 22-year old.
This transfer appears a Chelsea alternative approach to the signing of Paulo Dybala with the Argentine who has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge the whole of this month set to remain in Italy.
Dybala joined Serie A side AS Roma at the beginning of last season and has attract several clubs with his stunning performances at the Stadio Olimpico helping Roma to reach final of the Europa League final last season.
Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle have reportedly shown interest in the Argentine as well as Chelsea, who became favourites for the 28-year old’s signature following involvement of £106million Enzo Fernandez who was reportedly convincing Dybala to make a switch to Chelsea.
Though Dybala has attended a couple events in the UK including Wimbledon and F1 to fuel speculations amid links with Chelsea but the former Juve ace has denied a move to Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
Speaking himself to LAROMA24, Dybala denied his visit to London was for business as well as pleasure: ‘I’m motivated for pre-season, which we’re starting tomorrow (Monday),” he said. “My future? I’m happy at Roma. I’m staying here.”
With Dybala’s comment, it looks likely the forward will not depart Serie A this summer as Chelsea may need to consider alternative options. Kudus Mohammed appears the man to fill the Dybala gap.

If Chelsea cannot sign Dybala signing Kudus will be a great deal for the Premier League outfit with the Ghanaian younger (22) than Dybala (28). Chelsea have become a fan of young talent after signing Andrey Santos, Diego Moreira, Gusto Malo, Angelo Gabriel, Cesare Casadei over the past transfer periods.
Kudus has been sensational for Ajax over the years and last season, the 22-year old netted 11 times in 30 appearances for the Dutch side. If he joins Chelsea, he will become one of the exciting youngsters to line up at Stamford Bridge.
