Caf Women’s Champions League fixtures revealed as Wafu Zone B Champions Hasaacas Ladies face Wadi Degla in Group A whiles River Angels face Mamelodi Sundowns

Fixtures for the maiden Caf Women’s Champions League has been released on Thursday evening by the Confederation of Africa Football with interesting pairings handed over.

The maiden edition of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League will kick off on Friday, November 5 and end on Friday November 19, 2021.

The final draw was held in Egypt comprising of champions and runners up of Caf six zones; Union of North African Football (UNAF), West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone A, Central African Football Federations’ Union (UNIFFAC), Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA), Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) and West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B across Africa.

The zonal Women’s Champions League were used as qualifiers to the final tournament in Egypt named Egypt 2021 CAF Women’s Champions League.

In Wafu Zone B, Ghana’s Hasaacas Ladies beat River Angels of Nigeria 3-1 in the final at Ivory Coast as the two teams qualified for the draw’s ceremony. The Ghanaian side will open their campaign with Group A fixture against Malabo Kings of Equatorial Guinea.

The Equatorial Guinea giants lifted the Women’s Champions League in Central African Football Federations’ Union Zone after thrashing Dr Congo side FCF Amani 5-1 in the final.

The Ghana Women’s Premier League champions will then take on; AS Mande who won Wafu Zone A Women’s Champions League after beating AS Dakar Sacré-Cœur 4-0, Determine Girls FC 4-0 and drew 2-2 with Seven Stars to top the group. The Ghanaian slast group game will be against Egyptian Women Premier League outfit Wadi Degla appearing the competition as host country’s team.

In Group B, Wafu Zone B runners up River Angels of Nigerian will begin the journey with opening tie against Women’s Champions League winner of Union of North African Football (UNAF) AS FAR who defeated Afak Relizane 3-1 and AS Banque de l’Habitat 10-0 to top a one-group zonal competition.

The Nigerian giants will later face Mamelodi Sundowns ladies who won the Champions League title in COSAFA after beating Black Rhinos Queens of Zimbabwe 3-0 in the finals. River Angels’ last group game will be against Kenyan side Vihiga Queens on 12 November 2021.

The Kenyan Women beat Ethiopia Women Premier side CBE FC 2-1 in the final of the CESAFA CAF Women’s Champions League three weeks ago.

Two teams qualify from each group with toppers of Group A facing Group B second place whiles second place in Group A take on toppers of Group B in semifinals of the first Caf Women’s Champions League finals.

Caf has announced two match venues to host the competition; The Military Academy Stadium in Cairo boosting a capacity of 28,500 and 30 June stadiums in Cairo with 30,000 capacity. They later is used a home matches for Pyramids FC and Wadi Degla.
