Egypt held in FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers against Congo

Egypt U20 women’s national team were held to a draw against Congo in their first match of the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

The U20 World Cup is set to take place in Costa Rica in August of 2022. There are only two spots for Confederation of African Football (CAF) nations and Egypt will be fighting to ensure their first appearance.

In the second qualifiers round, the Pharaohs were up against Congo and played the first leg on Tuesday, September 29.

The Egyptians were held to a 1-1 draw at home, in a game which saw Mai Magdy score their only goal of the encounter. The second leg will be held on October 9th.

The winner will qualify to the third round where they will face either Nigeria or Central African Republic. It’s worth mentioning that the Super Falcons won 7-0 in the first leg.
