Crystal Palace vs Chelsea confirmed lineups as Havertz starts Premier League 2022-2023

Crystal Palace head into today’s Premier League meeting with Chelsea on the back of some bittersweet team news.

James Tomkins is fit to return and James McCarthur is nearing a comeback, though neither are in the starting lineup. Tomkins is on the bench, with McCarthur not yet ready to make the squad.

Chris Richards picked up a knock while on international duty with the USA and is also out, while Nathan Ferguson remains out with a foot injury.

With McArthur not available, Vieira opts for a middle three of Cheick Doucoure, Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze, as Jeffrey Schlupp misses out for the first time this season.

Wilfried Zaha and Jordan Ayew, with his work-rate off the ball likely to be key, line up either side of Odsonne Edouard, who gets the nod over Jean-Philippe Mateta through the middle for the hosts.

Crystal Palace XI: Guaita, Clyne, Ward, Guehi, Mitchell, Eze, Doucoure, Olise, Ayew, Edouard, Zaha.

Subs: Milivojevic, Tomkins, Mateta, Schlupp, Hughes, Johnstone, Ebiowei, Riedewald, Gordon.

Chelsea XI: Arrizabalaga, Chilwell, Fofana, Silva, James, Kovačić, Jorginho (c), Mount, Sterling, Aubameyang, Havertz
