Alejandro Garnacho is in line for a late call-up to the Argentina squad for the World Cup The 18-year old has come of age at Manchester United under Erik Ten Hag Argentina are considered one of the favourites to win the Qatar World Cup La Albiceleste coach Lionel Scaloni hinted he could make late changes to his squad before the start of the tournament.

Teenage sensation Alejandro Garnacho has been handed a World Cup lifeline after Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni hinted at making additional changes to his squad before the Qatar World Cup commences. Garnacho has been performing exemplarily in recent weeks for Manchester United, and has been the hero on more than one occasion.

The 18-year-old scored the winner in United’s Europa League win over Real Sociedad but it was not enough to ensure the Red Devils won the group.

He was also instrumental in his side’s comeback win over Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup third round, providing two assists in the 4-2 win.

And more recently, he came from the bench to bag the winner as Manchester United secured a dramatic late victory against Fulham in the Premier League. There is no question Garnacho can make an impact in a team full of more experienced players, but there was no room for him in Scaloni’s World Cup squad.

The Argentina boss, however, gave the 18-year-old a glimmer of hope as hinted at some changes before the World Cup. “There’s a possibility that our 26-man list for the World Cup could change. Let’s see. Scaloni said as quoted on The Sun.
