Etoile du Sahel deny Al Ahly and Zamalek contacts over signing right-back Wajdi Kechrida

spokesperson Qais Ashour has talked about rumours surrounding right-back and their intention to sign Al Ahly winger .

Al Ahly and Zamalek have both been on the lookout for a right-back to sign this summer in order to replace key departures.

The Red Devils will be looking to replace veteran right-back Ahmed Fathi, who is set to join Pyramids, while Zamalek will be hoping to fill the void left by Hamdy Nagguez since January.

Kechrida has been rumoured to be one of Al Ahly and Zamalek’s summer transfer targets, but Qais Ashour has revealed that both clubs have not enquired about the player.

“Al Ahly and Zamalek have not contacted us regarding Kechrida. There have been no official negotiations,” Ashour told On Time Sports.

Ashour also went on to deny rumours of Etoile signing Al Ahly’s Geraldo in the summer, revealing the club have limited resources due to the coronavirus outbreak.

“We’re going through a financial crisis right now and we have no resources because of the suspension of football activity due to the virus.”

Kechrida has been an integral part of Etoile’s lineup this season, making 20 appearances across all competitions while providing two assists.

On an international level, the 24-year-old was also part of Tunisia’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations squad, starting in five of their seven games in the tournament.
