Ittihad Alexandria: Egyptian side impose hefty punishment on right back Hesham Salah
Egyptian Premier League side, Ittihad of Alexandria, have imposed a hefty punishment on the first team’s right back Hesham Ismail.
Salah has been a regular starter for Ittihad this season, having played 11 of their 14 games so far, including their last game against Bank Al Ahly.
The game ended in an uneventful 1-1 draw, but it was Salah’s antics that stole the show.
The 24-year-old was seen arguing and fighting with team captain Khaled El-Ghandour on the pitch during the match and was subsequently subbed off in the 71st minute for Abdelghani Mohamed.
As a result, the former Telecom Egypt man was punished by the club, who deducted a large amount from his salary,
”The Board of Directors approves the large financial penalty imposed on the player Hesham Salah.
”The Board of Directors of Ittihad of Alexandria, headed by Mr. Mohamed Moselhi, approved the decision of the Football Committee headed by Mr. Ahmed Abdel Meguid, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, and of Mr. Mohamed Salama and Mr. Mohamed El-Behairy, members of the Board of Directors issued against the player Hesham Salah, the football team player, to deduct a large sum of money from the player for what he did during yesterday’s match against the Bank Al Ahly. The Football Committee’s decision came after the recommendation of the coaching staff led by Emad El-Nahas and an affirmation of the values and principles of our ancient club,” the club wrote in their official statement.
