Al Ahly part ways with South Africa midfielder Percy Tau

According to South African reports, Egyptian giants Al Ahly have parted ways with the Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau.

Tau had completed a permanent transfer to Al Ahly from Brighton & Hove Albion last summer, signing a three-year contract at the Red Castle.

The 28-year-old had a good start to life in Egypt, scoring eight goals and providing six assists in 31 games across all competitions.

His contributions have inspired the Red Devils to win the 2021 CAF Super Cup and reach the CAF Champions League final this season.

However, he has been going through rough form recently with the Reds, having not scored or assisted in the domestic competitions since November of 2021.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns man has also been rumoured to leave the club after ex-head coach Pitso Mosimane parted ways with the club.

While neither the club nor the player confirmed the rumours, South African news outlet SuperSport claimed that the Reds have parted ways with Tau.
