Arsenal lead race for £35m rated Juventus centre-back Merih Demiral

Arsenal are believed to be leading the race to sign Juventus centre-back Merih Demiral this summer according to latest reports.

Arteta is looking forward to get Arsenal back to top flight football again and can only achieve that by signing top quality players. They have been linked with a move for many players but the latest is Merih Demiral who players for Juventus.

Calciomercato, an Italian outlet, have reported that several clubs across Europe are tracking the defender, but the Gunners are leading the chase.

Demiral, 22, has endured a difficult season at Juventus since joining the club from Sassuolo in the summer. Demiral has managed just seven appearances for Juventus this season.

Indeed, Giorgio Chiellini, Daniele Rugani, Matthijs de Ligt and Leonardo Bonucci are all ahead of Demiral in the pecking order. It saw Demiral fail to play much until December where he clocked up six outings in a row.

However, after scoring against Roma, he was stretchered off on 19 minutes with a long-term knee injury in January. He is expected to be sidelined until the summer. Arsenal can swoop player in summer around valuation of £35m by Juventus.
