Manchester United move for Jadon Sancho this summer could delay due to covid-19 pandemic

Manchester United have worked tirelessly in the few past months to sign former Manchester City boy Jadon Sancho from the German Bundesliga.

But the coronavirus pandemic could hamper United chances of getting a deal done for the English International, according to latest reports.

It is well understood that Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Manchester United entered a race to sign Sancho this summer.

However, Manchester United are reported to lead the race and were only waiting for the summer transfer window to open before they finally approach Borussia Dortmund officially.

United are close to the extent that the Sun and German publication Bild have claimed the Manchester club have agreed terms with Sancho, leapfrogging Chelsea in particular- who are believed to contact the player- in the race.

In as much United were waiting to make a move for the 20-year old this summer, things appears to change as reports by Mirror suggest Ole’s side would wait and signed Sancho 12 months later, in effect after the end of next season.

Dortmund are not in a hurry to sell their prize asset despite financial distress from coronavirus in Europe and knee keeping hold to Sancho for another season.

This means the German outfits will still demand not less the £115million before they finally give confirmation to Sancho’s signature for any club.

In wake of the pandemic, several clubs in Europe including Manchester United are affected on financial grounds and have now decided to wait Sancho’s transfer for at least 12 months later from today.

The decision is orchestrated by Executive-Vice-Chairman Ed Woodward.

The 20-year old has been in sensational form this season, reaching double figure in goalscoring and assists dimensions.

He has been involved in 36 times in Dortmund’s goals this season, making the English International one of the most decisive players in the Bundesliga this season.
