Arsenal enter into race to sign Adrien Rabiot as contact between Arteta and Juve star made

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been hoping to get Arsenal back on track to the late 90s and early 2000s levels. One way the Spanish coach can achieve this motive is to bring in top talents.

Arsenal haven’t made much into the transfer market since the arrival of Arteta in December 2019 despite the manager’s presence in North London saw the Gunners made few advances in the January transfer market and are planning big for summer as well.

They have been linked with a move for appreciable amount of quality players including Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, Mirelam Pjanic, Philippe Coutinho, Thomas Partey and latest Adrien Rabiot of Juventus fame in recent times.

It is understood that the North London giants are confident in signing Partey though, but still knee adding Rabiot when the summer transfer window opens in a bid to build a world-class midfield for next season.

Meanwhile, Rabiot is been tracked by top clubs across the world including Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Manchester United, Newcastle and Real Madrid.

In as much the interest of these clubs could stand against Arsenal’s chances of getting a firm hold to Rabiot’s signature, which in past seasons these clubs have stolen targets from Arsenal, Arteta’s side have entered the race to sign the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder.

It has been reported that Arsenal have enter into talks with representatives of the Juventus star. And Italian website Calciomercato24 claim Mikel Arteta contacted Rabiot’s mother and agent, Veronique Rabiot, to discuss a loan switch in January.

The play-maker been left out on regular basis by Juve boss Maurizio Sarri when deciding the eleven to represent the Bianconeri on the pitch, and the French International has already primed a move away from Turin.

Ahead of the summer transfer, Rabiot himself is even claimed to have spoken directly with the Gunners manager and may have his eye set on Gunnar’s move.

But there is a potential threat from Newcastle, who could soon announced a marquee takeover, and finally walk into the transfer market to splash the money on big house-hold names in the market including Rabiot.

According to the Express, Newcastle are close to agreeing £26million deal for the 25-yeal old play-maker, and for the player himself, he has been offered a lucrative contract at St. James’ Park.

However, Arsenal still look favorites to land the midfielder only if they can agree a deal with Juve as the French International is ready for a move to the Emirates Stadium.
