Declan Rice open to ‘any move’ as Manchester City step in to battle Arsenal for West Ham star

Three Lion star Declan Rice is open to ‘any move’ as Manchester City join Arsenal in the race to sign the West Ham United midfielder this summer.

Arsenal have seen two offers rejected with their latest bid of £75million plus £15m in add-ons also falling short.

West Ham value their captain at more than £100m but are prepared to let him leave this summer.

The Hammers have been unimpressed with the structure of Arsenal’s offers, the latest of which is said to have come in five instalments over the next five years.

City are now hoping to beat the Gunners to his signature and are preparing to make their opening offer today.

Rice has been intent on joining Arsenal but City’s interest appears to have changed the landscape with Fabrizio Romano now reporting the midfielder is open to any move with his future now depending on which side can agree a deal with West Ham.

Arsenal are expected to make an improved third offer for Rice.

City are preparing for life without Ilkay Gundogan with their captain on the verge of joining Barcelona on a free transfer.

The treble winners have agreed a deal to sign Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea but also want to bring Rice to the Etihad.

Manchester United meanwhile are yet to make a bid for Rice.

Reports on Wednesday claimed Erik ten Hag’s side are considering their own bid and will offer either Scott McTominay or Harry Maguire in a player-plus-cash deal.

West Ham have shown interest in Scotland international McTominay who is among the players United could move on this summer.

David Moyes is also understood to be a huge admirer of club captain Maguire, another who is free to leave having lost his place in Erik ten Hag’s starting XI last season.
