Kevin Prince Boateng distances himself from national team football, revealed by Black Stars coach C.K. Akunnor

Black Stars Coach Charles Akonnor has revealed that exiled Ghana international Kevin Prince Boateng doesn’t want to play for the senior national football team again.

C.K Akonnor disclosed this during a media briefing to announce his squad for Ghana’s AFCON 2021 qualifying double header against Sudan.

Kevin Prince Boateng has not featured for the Black Stars since the 2014 world cup. And the Besiktas man was embroiled in controversy after he was accused of acting insolently towards then Coach Kwasi Appiah and some management members during an ill-fated world cup.

He was subsequently banned from representing the national team, although it seems this stance has been softened.

“… for Prince Boateng we spoke, I don’t think he wants to play for the Black Stars again” he said in a response to a question asked earlier.

Prince Boateng opted to play for the Black Star in 2010, featuring for Ghana in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South African. He scored the first goal in Ghana 2-1 win over US in the 1/16 of the World Cup.
