Ghana Premier League outfit Medeama SC fire head coach Ignatius Osei Fosu after just three games into season

Medeama SC have sacked head coach, Ignatius Osei Fosu after just three games into the 2021/22 football season.

The Ghana Premier League side on Wednesday, confirmed the departure of the young gaffer.

“We would like to announce that the club has mutually parted with ways with senior team first coach Ignatius  Osei-Fosu, club announced on their official website.

“Osei- Fosu has been in charge of the club after replacing Yaw Preko in August.

“However, the club has decided to mutually part ways with the gaffer after three matches in charge.

“We would like to thank Ignatius for his services to our club and wish him well in his future endeavour.

“Assistant coach Umar Abdul Rabi will take temporal charge of the team, pending an appointment of a new coach.

“He will be in the dugout when we take on rivals Karela United in the Western derby on Sunday.

Osei-Fosu joined the Yellow and Mauve prior to the start of the season from Techiman Eleven Wonders.

However, Osei Fosu has struggled to make an impact at the club after three games.

Medeama are winless in the new league campaign, losing heavily to Bechem United in the opening round and drawing in back-to-back games against Bibiani GoldStars and Eleven Wonders.

The poor returns which leave Medeama the club 13th on the ladder with two points forced the top hierarchy of the club to sit the Caf License A coach down over a mutual termination.

Osei-Fosu’s dismissal follows ex-Ebusua Dwarfs gaffer Ernest Thompson Quartey getting the sack from AshantiGold also after just three games into the season.

Medeama SC will be hosted King Faisal at the Baba Yara Stadium in the matchday four games this weekend.
