Hearts of Oak dealt huge blow ahead of Kamsar game as star man Gladson Awako requests to terminate contract

Hearts of Oak have been dealt a huge Caf Champions League blow after star man Gladson Awako, who much was expected of him in the pending continental campaign, has request Hearts to terminate his contract.

Awako, 30, has reportedly ask his new employers to leave the club three weeks into his two-year contract.

The Ghanaian International joined Ghana Premier League champions from Great Olympics after Hearts announcing a deal on their Facebook page last month. That was in attempt to strengthen their squad for the Caf Champions League.

Since completing his much talked about Hearts move, the midfielder has been training with his new teammates but he has been absent from sessions over a week now.

While all his absentee is to leave the Accra Sports Stadium, Awako has swerved to say he is only ill that is why he is not seen training with his Hearts teammates ahead of the African Champions League opener against Club Industriel Kamsar.

Awako was influential for Great Olympics in the just-ended campaign having relaunched his career in a grand style getting involved in 13 goals; scoring 6 and assisting 7 including four man of the match awards.

According to a report in GhanaSoccerNet, representatives of Awako have spoken with Hearts of Oak about the player’s desire to quit the club.

It’s understood that the reps have told Hearts of Oak Awako’s reasons to leave the club where the Phobians or the player’s entourage are yet to publish any official reasons.

However, a latest development in Modern Ghana reveals that Awako’s reasons to quit Hearts of Oak sooner than anticipated are spiritual.

The player has been absenting from Hearts training because of a spiritually induced illness since joining the Ghana Premier League giants, Futball Surgery understand.

Awako anticipates terminating his Hearts contract will get the problem solve whiles saving his career at large.

It’s unclear without Hearts of Oak will honour Awako’s request by granting the former TP Mazembe midfielder termination of contract.

The GhanaSoccerNet has also claimed that, Awako’s entourage has asked Great Olympics to pay back Hearts of Oak Awako’s signing fee.

With this latest development, Awako may miss Hearts clash with Kamsar this Sunday as it may be a big loss for the Ghanaian side while Kamsar come to the country very strong.
