OFFICIAL: Asante Kotoko confirm the signing of Imoro Ibrahim from Thunder FC

Ghana champions Asante Kotoko have confirmed the signing of former Karela United and Hapoel Tel-Aviv left back Imoro Ibrahim on Saturday morning. The player has cut himself into Kotoko’ busy transfer activity in the ongoing transfer window having been training with the Kumasi based club for two weeks now.

The 20 year old have signed four year deal with Kotoko which will see him remain with Konadu’s side til 2024. Ibrahim scored two goals for Karela United in the never-ended 2018 Ghana Premier League and returned back to his parent club Bolga All Stars July this year.

A statement in Asante Kotoko Express App reads, “The Club has completed the signing of left-back Imoro Ibrahim from Thunder FC with a four-year deal expected to end in 2024.”

The left back was a transfer for target for Maxwell Konadu before the Black Stars B coach was named boss at Kumasi, where the defender impressed the Kotoko coach during the WAFU tournament in Senegal.

The defender featured in all Ghana’s games until ending the tournament on a sad note after sustaining an injury against Burkina Faso in the quarter-finals. The defender was a free agent and was successful in his trails with Asante Kotoko, earning a permanent deal there after.

Ibrahim shared his first words after completing the move. “Kotoko is the biggest club in Ghana and among the biggest clubs in Africa”, he told Kotoko Express App.

“It is always a pleasure and a dream comes true for a player like me to wear the club’s (Kotoko) colours. It is a massive leap for my career and I promise to give it everything that I have got”, Imoro Ibrahim added.

“The team has a lot of good and experienced players who I will learn from. I want to help the club win trophies both here in Ghana and International and so I’m ready to work very hard to help anytime I am called upon to play”, he concluded.

He would have a tough competition from his replacement at the WAFU Patrick Yeboah at the left back after completing his dream move to Kotoko.
