Hearts of Oak set to appoint former Ash Gold boss Svetislav Tenasijevic as manager after coronavirus crisis

Former Ash Gold tactician Svetislav Tenasijevic has revealed talks between him and Hearts of Oak in a bid to see him take over the coaching job from interim manager Edward Odoom.

Hearts tasked Odoom to lead the team on the interim after mutually terminating Kim Grant’s contract back in December last year.

The Accra based side have embarked on the lookout for a permanent replacement for Grant but have been unable to find the perfect catch.

Along the line, coaches, but with specific reference to club’s legend and former captain for the Black Stars of Ghana Stephen Appiah together with Ghana national U-23 Men’s coach Ibrahim Tanko have been tipped to take over as Hearts of Oak managers.

With none these rumours materializing, the Ghanaian giants needed to wait for some months now to keep their searching accurate to land the idea man for the job.

If reports in the Ghanaian media are anything to go by, Serbian trainer Svetislav Tenasijevic can be appointed as Grants permanent replacement at Hearts, meaning he ought to take over from interim coach Edward Odoom.

As the Serbian himself has confirmed Hearts interest in his services, revealing talks between the two parties have already commenced a month ago, and highlighted with full confidence to take over the mantel from Odoom after the coronavirus crisis.

“I am ever ready to take up the Accra Hearts of Oak coaching job. A month ago, I had a call from some officials of the club asking me to take over the vacant position. I will soon return to Ghana to take over the Hearts of Oak job,” he told Kumasi based radio station Ashh FM.

Tenasijevic is not new in Ghana football after arriving to manage Berekum Chelsea before switching camp for Ash Gold in April 2018 as club’s technical director. He is now unattached and has confirmed his likely return to Ghana football after the covid-19 pandemic.
