Esperances de Tunis misses Ben Romdhane in Champions League quarter-finals second leg

Esperance de Tunis will missed Ben Romdhane in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals after the midfielder was wrongly expelled by Moroccan referee Redouane Jiyed.

Ben Romdhane was shown the exit door on the 73rd minute in the first leg game in Cairo, and his absence would be a great loss to Moïne Chaâbani who is poised to overturn Zamalek 3-1 lead.

There is still hope for the Tunisian outfits, having emerged victors against Al Ahly in the second leg of the 2018 CAF Champions League final when the Cairo based club entered Stade Olympique de Radès with a 3-1 lead from the first leg.

However, Saad Bguir strikes in each half of the game and Anice Badri stoppage time goal handed Esperance a perfect come against Ahly to lift the Champions League title in 2018.
