Though Great Olympics are yet to make any official announcement for acquiring the services of Don Bortey however, Bortey confirmed the transfer to West End Radio Station.

“Yes I am Olympics player and ready to play for them, watch out for New Don Bortey.

Bortey’s latest confirmation would minimize any tension about his transfer to Olympics as tension and uncertainty built following when Olympics boss Isaac Nii Armah discarded rumours last week that his side have signed the experienced forward.

“We have not signed Don Bortey, such reports are not true. He (Bortey) is only training with us. But I can confirm that we have signed Emmanuel Clottey and Godred Saka”, Armah said in an interview with Silva FM Sports.

Olympics will be Bortey’s fifth Ghanaian club after previously featuring for Ghapoha, Hearts of Oak, Aduana Stars and New Edubiase. Bortey has also won the Ghana Premier League Golden Boot award in 2002 (Joint scorer), top scorer of the 2012 GHALCA Top 4 tournament, and won the 2004 CAF Confederation Cup with boyhood club Hearts of Oak.
